Our colleagues participated in several international events in the run-up to the International Anti-Corruption Day.
On 29 November, Alyona Vandysheva spoke at the regional round table Protecting the Rights of Survivors of Gender-Based Violence: Law Enforcement Practices in Central Asian Countries on the topic of best practices and trends in countering corruption and violence against women.

On 1 December, Alyona held a lecture in Tbilisi, Georgia on the experience of anti-corruption reforms in different countries. She told the audience about the drivers of anti-corruption reforms and the factors influencing their successful implementation.
On 2 December, Alyona gave two presentations at the training seminar for regional anti-corruption councils on effective coordination of anti-corruption work of state bodies in the regions of Uzbekistan. She spoke about the gender perspective of interaction of the regional anti-corruption councils with civil society and media, and the gender approach to the development of grassroots initiatives in the implementation of anti-corruption projects and programs.

Alyona presented successful cases from Argentina, Brazil, Indonesia, India, Uganda, as well as TI Russia’s work in the sphere, including compliance training programs for women entrepreneurs and the Laboratory of University Transparency (LOUPE).
This week, Alyona together with senior lawyer of TI Russia Grigory Mashanov and our director Ilia Shumanov take part in the 20th International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) in Washington, USA. On 9 December, Grigory will present TI Russia’s expertise on the session Managing Corruption Related Risks in Public Spending During Emergencies: Mission (Im)Possible?.
